Taking its inspiration from the green hedging around blocks of green fields, the green-on-green reflects this valley's farmland structure. The design itself is based on a prominent architectural feature of the Langdale Youth Hostel, a Victorian mansion that was at one point owned by the Benson's, a family of fullers (finishers of cloth that would be made into clothing and sold locally in Kendal).
Lake District Tweed created a second Langdale throw, working with the grey of the drystone walls for a beautiful reflection of the Langdale view from high on the fells, looking down the valley.
The Cheviot cross wool used to make this throw is from Harry Place Farm in the Langdale Valley.
