Rooted in deep time, the Borrowdale Throw is inspired by the Bowder Stone, a colossal andesite lava boulder that tumbled from Kings How between 13,500 and 10,000 years ago. Now a beloved landmark in the valley, the stone has welcomed visitors since the 19th century, with a staircase still allowing the adventurous to climb to its summit.

Designed by Curlew Fabric Design, this throw captures the grounded solidity of the Bowder Stone in both form and palette. The wool comes from Dancing Gate Farm, where Sue and Kevin Tyson raise a diverse flock in the Borrowdale valley. The blend of Clun Forest, Kerry Hill, Cheviot and Texel cross breeds gives the cloth a rich but soft texture and lasting strength.

A true piece of Borrowdale — practical, beautiful, and made to endure.
