Hand-produced in the heart of the Lake District, on family-run Nibthwaite Grange Farm, The Soap Dairy makes traditional cold process soaps using creamy Jersey milk from the farm’s own dairy cow, Honeysuckle. The Soap Dairy was born out of Maria and her husband John’s efforts to diversify their traditional Cumbrian farm – alongside Lake District Tweed, which can be found elsewhere in the Grasmere Gather.
Unlike most modern soaps, The Soap Dairy pride themselves on being completely palm oil-free. Instead, Maria uses British cold-pressed rapeseed oil alongside other nourishing ingredients, to ensure her soaps gently cleanse without drying or irritating. In addition, Maria’s natural products are completely plastic-free.
We’re excited to exclusively stock Maria’s Thirteen Valley soap triangles at the Grasmere Gather. Look out for an artisan soap inspired by each of the Lake District’s Thirteen Valleys, with fragrances reflecting the unique character and produce of each.
